Dr. Cayman Seagraves is Assistant Professor of Real Estate and Finance at Florida Atlantic University and holds a Ph.D. in finance from Florida State University. He came to academic research from commercial and residential brokerage practice, having co-founded a brokerage firm and worked with one of Tennessee's largest homebuilders.
His research spans empirical corporate finance, real estate market microstructure, and the application of AI agents to commercial real estate. His published work appears in the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Research, and the Journal of Portfolio Management. He is a recipient of the American Real Estate Society Corporate Real Estate Award and holds research grant funding for AI-driven real estate sentiment modeling.

His academic research focuses on investments, bond and credit default swap markets, credit ratings, and commercial real estate capital markets. His landmark work on sovereign credit risk is published in the Journal of Finance, with additional scholarship in the Review of Asset Pricing Studies, the Journal of Real Estate Research, and the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Real Estate Society and on the editorial board of the Journal of Real Estate Research.
